Fly-fishing in Patagonia, What to expect?
North Patagonia is internationally well known as one of the bests places in the world for fly-casting. Fishermen can reach many river spots which are not reachable the rest of the year, and fishing is good throughout the whole day.
Surrounded by beautiful willow trees, River Chimehuin has an interesting population of wild rainbow trout, which nowadays is being threatened by the increasing number of brown trout, also wild. Sizes vary usually from 0.5-1.5 kg. There is always a chance to catch a 2 to 3 kg. trout, early in the morning or at the last minute in the afternoon. Sometimes Fontinalis (creek) trout show themselves too in the Chimehuin´s waters.
